Steelman Auto was founded in 1998 by Ray Steelman, a lifelong Buffalo resident and third-generation mechanic who learned the trade working alongside his father in a Cheektowaga garage. Ray's vision was simple: bring dealership-level expertise to the neighborhood without the dealership price tag.

What started as a two-bay operation on the West Side has grown into a full-service shop with eight bays, a team of ASE-certified technicians, and over 8,400 vehicles serviced. Through three rounds of expansion — and through Buffalo winters that would humble lesser operations — the shop has never wavered from the principles Ray built it on.

Today, Steelman Auto is run by Ray's son Danny Steelman, who grew up sweeping floors in the shop and earned his own ASE Master certification before taking the helm in 2018. The name on the door means the same thing it always has: honest work, fair prices, and a team that genuinely cares about getting you back on the road safely.
